With the sun rising just enough to allow the pitch to melt into a mud pie, the Mavs took on a familiar Copthorne side. A relatively unchanged mavs line up had the pleasure of a large crowd to watch this under 30’s affair. Whilst absent Andy was sunning himself in Prague, Rob Riddle flew in that morning from New York to make sure he could watch the game… a decision he quickly regretted.

Lord shows no mercy to King William IV

altA chilly morning confirmed that winter had finally arrived at Imberhorne Lane. A downpour of rain had also caused water logging on the first choice pitch, meaning a rare excursion to the lower pitch was needed for the game to get underway against formidable opponents, King William IV, who had beaten the Mavericks at the opposite fixture. The Mavs were hungry for revenge.

Mavs unable to break down tough Tornados

On a blustery morning the mavs were looking to get back to winning ways after a dissapointing defeat in the cup the previous week, and a loss to King William last time they played in the league. The opposition were Tornados, one place above the mavs in the league but only on goal diference.

Another Sunday and another Super Sunday match up in the cup for the Mavericks. Feeling confident after last week’s impressive 4-1 win to opposition sitting 4th in Div 5, the Mavericks where now up against Crowbrough Athletic: 2nd in Div 5!

Mavs Finally on Cup Run!

With the FA kindly giving the Mavericks a well-deserved winter break (6 weeks), the Mavs arrived in Forest Row hoping to continue where they left off after a solid performance against Rottingdean Village. However, with a history of poor cup runs, a heavy pitch and based on location a derby game, this was always going to prove a difficult match.

Belated match report sees rutheless Mavs send Green Street home feeling blue

16/10/11 - The Mavs turned up to Imberhorne feeling upbeat despite it being a cold Sunday morning, following a good performance against Tonbridge Origin the previous Sunday and with mid table opposition in Green Street Blues Reserves on the menu, The Mavs were confident of making it 4 wins on the bounce. After a brisk warm up both teams lined up, The Mavs fielding a solid 11 versus only the 10 men of Green Street Blues Reserves, although a number of The Mavs players didn't realise this until half time.

Mavs bounce back from first league defeat with Sporting victory

EG Mavericks turned up to Cherry Lane looking to get back to winning ways after a tough defeat the week before at home. Spirits were high in the changing room as news came in that Ryan Taylor had just put Newcastle 2 up against a relegation threatened Everton. Chin up DC!
